India’s all-female CSGO e-sports team competes in 15 WEC Asian Qualifiers 2023

In the World Esports Championship, India’s all-female CSGO team has made it to the Asian Qualifiers.

This year’s World Esports Championship is happening in Romania and teams from all over the world are joining the tournament. Almost 130 teams will be playing in WEC 2023 from six various esports titles. In addition to that, the all-female Indian CSGO squad has also entered the Asian Qualifiers of WEC 2023. The team likes to call itself Team Top-G and it's competing with other teams in WEC 2023 Asian Qualifiers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 15 to July 17.

Before qualifying to Asian Qualifiers, Team Top-G won the National Esports Championships (NESC) 2023, which was organised by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) earlier this year. The team has five female players; the leader Swayambika Sachar aka Sway, Shagufta Iqbal aka xyaa, Nidhi Salekar aka Stormyyy, Dilraj Kaur Matharu aka COCO, Aastha Nangia aka CrackShot, Priyanka Choudhary aka ALEXAA and the coach Sabyasachi Bose aka Antidote.

WEC 2023

The 15th World Esports Championship is set to happen in Romania. The championship is promising a big prize pool of $500,000 which is approximately ₹4.1 Crore. The tournament is not organising Counter Strike matches only, there will be more esports titles like eFootball, DOTA 2, Tekken 7, Mobile Legends and PUBG: Mobile. 

The male Indian CSGO team got into their qualifiers on Thursday, although the Indian DOTA 2 team has been eliminated. During the group stage matches, the competing teams will face off against one another in a best-of-one format. However, the semi-finals and grand-finals will have best-of-three matches. The two winning teams in Asian Qualifiers will join the WEC 2023 and will also be rewarded $7000.
